Heal Anemia through Ayurveda

A Case Study of Cure WITHOUT Blood Transfusion

In the month of May, 2019, a twenty year old girl walked into my clinic with her parents. Her face was extremely pale, and she was finding it tough to walk even a few steps. It was evident that she was suffering from a case of anemia.

Let me first explain what anemia is:

Anemia is a condition that develops when your blood lacks enough healthy red blood cells or hemoglobin.

Hemoglobin is a main part of red blood cells. Its role is to bind oxygen and supply it to the tissues. When hemoglobin levels are low, a person’s body will not get enough oxygen to function optimally. Hence, fatigue and giddiness are common symptoms in anemia.

Other symptoms include pale or yellowish skin, irregular heartbeat, headaches, chest pain and/or shortness of breath.

In this particular case,

The patient was having a history of excessive menstrual bleeding. She had not mentioned this to her parents as she felt shy. It was only when the grandparents noticed how pale and weak she had become did they realise that something was medically wrong.

We immediately got a hemoglobin test done. The result was quite shocking. While a healthy woman’s hemoglobin level ranges from 11.5 to 15 gms/dL, hers was severely low at just 2.8 gms/dL.

I informed her parents that in such a severe case of anemia, a blood transfusion would be the quickest way to help improve her condition. Since the patient was afraid of such a procedure, they wanted to try ayurveda first. We decided to go forward with an Ayurvedic remedy for her problem, while regularly checking her blood hemoglobin levels to see how much progress was being made. I warned them that in case the recovery was not quick enough, she might need a transfusion any which way. They agreed.

Her treatment began, with importance being placed on eating clean, light food with lots of fruits and vegetables. She was also advised to rest as much as possible and to avoid any form of physical exertion.

Within the very first week, she showed slight physical signs of improvement. Her hemoglobin levels were also rising, slowly and steadily. It came up from 2.8 to 3.1 within the first four days.

Within the next sixteen days, it came up to 6.2.

On 13th June, within one month of Ayurvedic treatment, her hemoglobin level came up to 11.2 gms/dL.

She made a full recovery through simple ayurvedic medicines accompanied by a healthy lifestyle.

When treated through Ayurvedic methods, Anemia is cured in a slow, natural manner. While it takes time to show results, the results tend to be permanent or long term. There are no side effects associated with this form of treatment, even when medication is taken for extended periods of time.

In addition to this, Ayurvedic medicines for anemia do not create any unpleasant taste in the mouth. They do not cause constipation either.
