Vamana– This is a form of medicinally induced vomiting by using strong tea, herbs, licorice, salt, calamus etc. It is very effective for people with Kapha rogas.

Virechana– A way to relieve all kinds of skin diseases and chronic rheumatic problems. It is a medicinally induced purgation, which cleanses the lower digestive tract. It is generally done by giving rhubarb and can help eliminate high pitta roga from the small intestine.

Vasti– It is done to clean the colon involving the use of medicated enemas.

Nasya– It is done to remove sinuses and improve blood circulation in nasal cavities. It involves the administration of medicines through the nose in the form of drops or powders.

Rakta Mokshana– A form of bloodletting primarily helpful in disorders of the skin such as eczema & psoriasis.
